Beer 101 – Beer Glassware – Wiezen Glasses
As the name states, a wiezen glass is designed to make drinking wiezen (wheat) beers more enjoyable. Often confused as pilsner glasses, wiezen glasses have a lot of the same characteristics. They are tall and slender….and um….made out of glass and hold beer. Ok that’s about it.
Everything else is different about wiezen glasses. Wiezen glasses are larger than pilsner glasses. While most pilsner glasses hold 12oz of beer, a wiezen glass will actually hol
Bite like a serpent..stings like an adder.
Last week I wrote about saying the phrase, “I need a beer.” Then a few days ago, I came across this passage in my morning reading. Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? Those who tarry long over wine; those who go to [...]
We’re on the Facebooks!
For all you social media fanatics out there, I decided to create a Facebook page for theBeerean.com. So now all the tens of Christians that read this blog have a place to be social on the interwebs. Head on over and become a fan…or like it…or whatever Facebook is calling it this week.
Are you a drunkard?
Are you a drunkard? I wouldn’t be quick to say no. In fact, I hope one day I will earn the title of drunkard. The Son of Man has come eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look at him! A glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ (Luke 7:34 ESV) Everywhere you look in the book [...]
“I need a beer.” – Where do you find your satisfaction?
Sometimes it’s the smallest phrases that can show some of our deepest sins. I think this is the case with the phrase, “I need a beer.” We’ve all experienced one of those days where everything seems to go wrong. You wake up late (or too early), there’s no hot water in the shower, there’s no milk for cereal (worst, it’s sour), you’re [...]
As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. – 1 Timothy 6:17 Paul drops this simple phrase at the end of this verse like a bomb on my feeble mind. Everything that God [...]
We all know the story. Jesus is a huge wedding party. People are eating and drinking and having a great time. But all the sudden the booze start running low. Jesus’ mom pleads with him to help out. Jesus being the man that he is takes over 100 gallons of water and turns it into the best wine these people [...]
What should you do with your beer that has gone bad? It might be the death of you to drink it, but it still has the ability to give some life.
If you were only able to buy one kind of beer glass, I would recommend getting a pint glass. But next on my list would be a pilsner glass. In fact, I don’t even own a pint glass right now. I only own pilsner glasses (my wife has promised me she is going to remedy this very shortly ). In [...]

Beer
I mentioned on Twitter last night that my beer supply is dangerously low, and my paycheck is a ways off. This seems to be a trend in my life here lately. I either run out of beer or like this week the beer I have isn’t that tasty (three bottles of Newcastle that went bad and a couple of beers [...]
Had to go short and sweet this week. I have a lot on my plate right now. But I hope this tip is helpful to everyone out there.
Here is an interesting thought. The fact that we actually have the physical capacity to enjoy the food we eat and the beer we drink is a sign that God wants us to enjoy them. Watch the video for more thoughts on this.
Some people might think that putting some lime in your beer is as easy as squeezing a little lime into your bottle. But thre is one more step that you need to do.

Life
Hey Everyone, I write this from my iPhone while I’m at Discount Tire. This has been a crazy week. It’s been one thing after another. It has been a definate drinking week. To make a long story short. We were given a vehicle that broke down. So we broke down and borrowed some money from our family to buy another [...]
Over the past few months it has been really cool to see people find theBeerean.com. Everyone has gotten here through various avenues such as twitter, my comments on other sites, some link love from other bloggers, ect. But I have started to get a large increase of people coming hear from search results (I must have some mad SEO skillz). [...]

When I think about going out and getting a nice cold-one, I always picture it in a pint glass. In my mind, the pint glass is the most universal of all beer glasses. Almost every bar I’ve been in….actually ever bar I’ve been in uses a pint glass to serve their beer in it. There are a lot of reasons [...]
I end each Beer Tip of the Week with the verse, “whether you eat or drink, do it all to the glory of God.” But what does that mean…how do we drink to the glory of God? How can someone be a God glorifying beer drinker. I hope that I have given you some insight into this arena here already, [...]
Today is going to be short and sweet. Have you ever wondered why once your beer bottle gets a little sweaty the label will pull right off (on about 90% of beer bottles). This is because they are designed to come off. The beer bottling process as we know it today (including the adding of labels) was created in Europe. [...]
