How to start a blog…
This has been the thought running through my head this last week, “How do I start a blog?” I don’t mean in the technical aspect. I know how to do that, but I’m more worried about what do you talk about in your first post. Do you just start witting and hope no one notices that it’s your first post? Or do you make it blatantly obvious like I am now.
I still don’t know what to do. So, I think I’m just going to ramble on for a little bit (I’m good at this).
TheBeerean.com was a dream that I came up with a little over a month ago. I am an avid lover of beer. But more importantly I am a lover of God and His Son even more.
As I started combing the internet, I noticed that there wasn’t any blogs that focused on the world of beer with a Christian world view. Now I’m not one of those guys that thinks there needs to be a “Christian” something for every “secular” thing that is out there (I’m actually happy that Christian bookstores are going bankrupt…now maybe the Christians will actually get out of the Christian ghetto). I’m not a sectarian. In fact I’m the opposite.
I think Christians need to get out of their comfort zone and go into to the world (by the way Jesus thought this too). In the world of beer this is pretty easy since there aren’t any “Christian” liquor stores or bars.
So, I hope to be a place of resources and enlightenment for those Christians who dare to go into the “secular” world of beer. I hope to be a place of hope and comfort in a world where both the “outsiders” and the “insiders” are against the Christian beer lover. I hope to show the Christian whether they eat or drink, they can do it all to the glory of God.
While this is a brave new frontier that I feel I’m journeying into. I know that I don’t go alone. I know there are those Christians out there who share my view. I also know that it is only recently in history that the church has left the world of beer to those who don’t know God. We stand on a rich history of great lovers of God who also loved beer.
My ultimate purpose with this blog isn’t to make a name for myself or to make some money (I only have the ads to hopefully raise some money to quit my job and plant a church). It is my ultimate hope that through this blog, God stirs in His people to redeem the world of beer for His glory and that people might come to know His Son, Jesus, as their ultimate treasure and salvation.
So in my first post I ask you to join me. Join me (subscription buttons are at the top 
) on this journey as we seek to give God the glory He deserves for this wonderful creation He has given us called beer.
